My new year resolutions are focused in the family and in the home. Actually it is not a form of new year's resolutions but it is a renewal of a commitment every year. We call it FAMILY could be together forever.

The FATHER should always be the head of the family. He takes the responsibility of keeping his family together for better or for worse.

The AUTHORITY may be shared by him to his wife. Both of them have the authority to discipline their erring children, to reprimand them by telling what is wrong and giving the solution to make it right without offending the children.

The MOTHER should be the help-meet of the father in rearing their children up according to the "nurture and the admonition of the Lord. The mother has a great role of caring and bringing up the children.

And all those things would come naturally when the children would express unequivocally their gratitude, their appreciation to the efforts and sacrifices made by their parents by saying, "I Love You" to them and to their siblings too.

Thus, F.A.M.I.L.Y. is more than a new year's resolutions for me, for us in our family. And the value of HOME. It has been said that there is no place like HOME. This in reality makes everyone, every member of the family to come home wherever they are. In home, there is love. The father and the mother are loving themselves. The children do likewise.

As far as New Year resolution is concern, the big question, do I keep to them. It's easy to say things I like do the coming year forgetting there is an effort that's needed to be put in to achieve them. I find in some cases I'm not able to keep to the resolutions for the next year. I hope to change this time.

The one resolution that I take every year to comfortably break later is to keep myself off fast foods. This time also I'll be taking the same resolution expecting to come out with a different outcome.
I know if the intent is strong, you do not need a particular time of the year to stick by. Mine have always been a bunch of loosely taken decisions to be broken within couple of months of next year.

My new year resolutions are to establish a business of my own. I'm a student about to graduate and I would prefer dealing with the hustle of finding a job when I already have something running.

My resolution for 2017 is to quit smoking, and that it sticks. I have quit a couple of times, but due to weight gain, I always start again. I have been researching healthy eating habits and nutrition so that I don't gain a lot of weight when I quit. So, I guess healthier eating is one also.

Part of my New Year resolution is to make efforts to spend significant time with my family. I know this year I didn't actually spend time enough with my family due to travels. I am looking forward to making my family happier by spending enough time with them next year.

I do not write a New Years resolution since I just tend to not do it. Admit it or not but a lot of people who write their resolution end up not doing it anymore after 3 months or more. I know a lot of people who have written in their resolution that they would stop smoking and will stop their excessive drinking habits, well it has been 7 years and they are still the same.

This year I have taken the resolution to not waste all my money. I will get some savings done this year. My bank balance is always zero. I will improve on that.

If you are good at keeping New Year resolutions that would be a good step at shaping your life for a better person every year. But then come to think of it do we have to wait until the beginning of another year to change a lifestyle we are not comfortable with.

I have never made a list of new years resolutions but I do have wishes and ideas on what I'd love to accomplish in life. My main goal and priority is being economically better for my daughter to have all she needs and live in a safer place. I have been wanting this since the day she was born so hopefully this year it will be fulfilled.

Losing a few pounds, not too much, travel, finish my studies...
But so far none of this really happened except I traveled a bit, which is fine :D I like traveling a lot. I hope that I will continue and finish what I planned to.

I hope I make good on my new year’s resolutions for 2018. This time, I would focus on making small, incremental changes to all things that I wish to improve. In achieving my goals, I will try not to be so hard on myself. I will take baby steps instead. I want to get organized, be healthy and fit to live life to the fullest. Since I believe that learning is a continuous process, I hope to learn new things. I also want to travel and be able to save more. After this post, I will write down these resolutions and put an action associated with them in a journal. Because I believe that I am more likely to do these if they are on my calendar.

Sorry, no New Year Resolutions for me as I find them hard to keep. What is the use of making something which isn't going to last even for 24 hours. I know a number of people who make tall claims about giving up this or that or starting fitness programs etc etc and forget them as soon as they make them. I think the right time to make a resolution is when you are ready to keep it.

Wow. This has been posted almost a year ago and 2017's about to end too. Right now, no more New Year's resolutions. But just hoping for a more fruitful year. 2017 has been dry for me in terms of my career and finances. But definitely full of lessons too. So I am just hoping that the swamp will get fuller by the turn of 2018. Cheers to all.

It's another year so I think this is a timely topic again :)

I could no longer remember the last time I made a New Year's resolution because as @Mika said, they're "hard to keep" haha. What I do instead is to be hopeful and positive that wonderful things will happen for the whole year and in the coming years.

Yes, resolutions are really hard to keep, especially the big ones. It would take a LOT of willpower to do them. We could only hope that things we're looking forward to would finally come true :)

You know last time I made a resolution that was not on New Year but in the month of May (Long back) when I decided to give up smoking. I gave up smocking in a day and never touched a cigarette after that ever. That was almost 13 years before and it was not an easy decision since I had been smoking 20-30 cigarettes a day for years. I think one should not opt for a resolution unless he can keep it although it's matter of willpower and one can do anything with strong willpower.

You are correct for any action or plan to make it should be attainable. It is clearly defined or stated to avoid confusion. It would be a degrading situation if you couldn't comply or meet your resolution or things to do. The simple it is the better. The shorter it is good.

For 2018, my new year resolutions are to eat healthy, improve on my communication skills and generally be a better person. Also like to buy my first house this year.
