Pregnant person should not drink nor smoke. It is not good for the mother and the baby. Because of the chemical contents present in the liquor or cigarettes, both the baby and the mother will suffer from the toxins. We all know that toxins will damage the cells of the body. It will likewise lead to a big problem when the baby is born. There might be some defects in physical or mental aspect.

Therefore, the mother should avoid the liquor and the cigarettes so both will have healthy bodies.

Some women continue their smoking and drinking habits even they know they are pregnant. Smoking during pregnancy is a bad thing and there is chances that it will affect the health of the new born baby. Doctors also request women to remove their bad habits like smoking and drinking during pregnancy. A small mistake can lead to high risk in the future.

Also you should not drink while you are trying to conceive a baby as well, and drinking to much in the early stages of pregnancy can lead to a miscarriage. The drinking passes through the placenta and that could effect the baby with a low birth weight and premature birth also-and smoking can also be bad, causing the baby to cough a lot also. I would not smoke around the baby either when they are born because the smoke has a lot of poisonous gases that are harmful to your baby's health as well.
